So... I was thinking,  some of you out there might be wondering where the idea for this Watch Over Me Web series came from.  Well, it's kinda a two part story.  Sort of two partial ideas colliding.  So...

A few months before coming up with the this concept, I was in a pretty dark, depressing place personally ( not really the point of this story), but afterward I can out on the other side with a new or maybe renewed, sense of self.  I had been reading ( ok...audio books) alot on inspirational, self-actualization type stuff.  As my mother used to say I was "sick and tired of being sick and tired".  I guess you could say I was rediscoving my center.  At the same time, I started noticing how many people around me blamed the world, God, and "the other guy" for the things happening ( or not happening) in their lives.  Now, admittedly I was on a self empowerment kick.  But, I just kept thinking, " Don't you see, YOU are in charge of your own destiny, YOU are the captain of you vessel, YOU are the master of your own domain".  ( Yes I really do think in cliche, strange I know).  So thats how it started, with the character of Alison, this sad girl who insited the world was out to ruin her, happiness was meant for other and there's no point in trying to change it.  Watch Over Me is my response to those people out there that refuse to take ownship of the own lives.

Aside:

Now I'm the first to admit I'm not perfect.  I can get into my "moods" ( Yeah but it's different when it's me...that's what we all say).   We all have our moments when we feel like the walls are crowding in and there's ony more bad around the corner.  You know Mel Brooks once said, when ask about the difference between comedy and tragedy:  If I get a splinter in my thumb,  that's a tragedy.  If you fall dowwn in the gutter and dies...that's comedy.  It's all a question of who it's happening to.  ( You laugh when someone walks into a glass door...or trips on a step, don't lie) .  But I digress...

Seriously though, we are talking about poeple who are perpetual victims, the Eeyore's of the world ( Eeyore...anyone?  anyone get the reference?  ... Look it up.)  There's not bad folks, they're just in a low period and can't seem to see any good.  You know the type I mean.  In fact your probably have some pretty "good" stories about them.  And shamelessly, we'd love to hear 'em.  Send us your stories about the friend that is conviced that the world is working against them and we'll try to work it into an episode...

Ok, class.  We're going stop here for for now and pick this up later.  Until then...

Enjoy the View
